PDR Training I: Introduction to the 3D Data Recovery Phases and the PDR Toolset™


Our one-day introductory training is designed for anyone who is new to the field of PDR. The most experienced member of our technical support staff goes over the peculiarities of the three data recovery phases:

  1. Drive Restoration:
    • Diagnostics using the PC-3000 UDMA universal utility
    • Working with the database of firmware resources
    • Overview of the PC-3000 UDMA functionality: set-up procedures for various families of hard drives, configuration settings, list of available functions
  2. Disk Imaging:
    • DeepSpar Disk Imager overview
    • Understanding the various imaging parameters
    • Creating optimal imaging algorithms to deal with more complex cases
  3. Data Retrieval:
    • PC-3000 Data Extractor overview
    • Recovering files from corrupted file systems

PDR Training II: Advanced PDR Toolset™ and PDR Methodology™ Training


Our three-day advanced course is designed for PC-3000 users and PDR technicians who want to expand their abilities

  • Day 1 - Know the Terrain: Focuses on in-depth hard disk drive design and theory, which gives PDR technicians a solid understanding of the typical causes of hard drive failure.
  • Day 2 and 3 – Phase I Toolset Training: The following two days focus on specific recovery procedures for most common problems in drives of various drive manufacturers.

Format: The format involves three days of lecture with multiple participants in a typical classroom format, with PC-3000 demonstrations done on a projection screen.

Duration: 3 days

PDR Training III: Hands-on Recovery Course


This course focuses on demonstration of some real-world cases being recovered using professional approaches to data recovery. Current monitoring (via the DeepSpar Disk Imager), PC-3000 UDMA utilities, and other diagnostic procedures/methods are used to show the participants how to determine mechanical, firmware, and electronic problems. The recovery procedures that are touched on include:

  • Head swapping
  • Disk platter exchange
  • PCB hot-swap
  • Smart PCB hot-swap (with firmware copying) and others
